Privacy Policy

TopicIntel monitors news sources for the topics you define and alerts you when a relevant article appears. This policy covers the TopicIntel website and the TopicIntel Android app.
1. Who we are
TopicIntel is operated by its owner. Questions about this policy or your data can be sent to atabay@aghalarbayli.com.
2. What we collect
- Account details: your email address, your password (stored hashed by our authentication provider), the name you enter when you register, your preferred language, and the version of the terms you accepted.
- Profile settings: your time zone and a notification email address.
- Your strategies: the names, descriptions and keywords you enter, and the delivery switches you choose (Telegram, push).
- Results: the articles that matched your strategies and our analysis of them (a summary, why it matters, relevance, impact, sentiment and category), plus when alerts were sent.
- Telegram: if you link Telegram, your Telegram chat ID.
- Push notifications (app): a Firebase Cloud Messaging token for your phone, its platform, a device name or model, the app version and when it was last seen, plus your push preferences (on or off, relevance, minimum impact and quiet hours).
- Technical data: when you use the service, our hosting and security providers process your IP address and request details to deliver the service and to stop abuse.
We do not collect your location, contacts, photos, microphone or camera data. The app contains no advertising and no analytics or crash-reporting tools.
3. How we use it
To run your account, find and analyze matching articles, send the alerts you asked for, protect the service from abuse and fix problems. We do not sell your data and we do not share it for advertising.
4. Who processes it for us
Each provider below handles data only to provide its part of the service.

5. How long we keep it
Account data, strategies and settings are kept until you delete your account.
Matches and their analysis are kept for 12 months from the last time an article matched, then deleted. Downloaded article text is kept for 30 days (7 days when extraction failed), articles no strategy references are removed after 30 days, and delivery records such as queue jobs are removed after at most 90 days. Alert decision records are kept for 30 days.
Backups used for disaster recovery may hold deleted data for a short time before they expire.
6. Deleting your account
You can delete your account at any time from the Profile page of the website or the app, or at topicintel.com/delete-account. Deleting it immediately and permanently removes your profile, strategies, matches and analysis, Telegram link, push devices and preferences. This cannot be undone.
7. Security
Data is sent over HTTPS. The app keeps your sign-in session in the phone's secure storage. Access to the database is restricted per account.
8. Your rights
You can see and change most of your data in the Profile and Strategies pages, and delete your account yourself. For anything else, such as a copy of your data or a correction, email atabay@aghalarbayli.com. If you are in the EU or UK you also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
9. Changes
We will post changes to this policy on this page and update the date above.
